What engines are available?
When you purchase a Jeep Wrangler, you expect a certain amount of power, and the 2021 version gives it to you. Most trims will come with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. You can get this engine with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. There are a couple of options for the Wrangler, including a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that gives you 270 horsepower and an impressive 295 lb-ft of torque. There is also a miraculous diesel engine, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that provides an amazing 442 lb-ft of torque. Later in the model year, the Wrangler will have a hybrid engine that takes the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and adds hybrid elements for 375 horsepower and up to 25 miles all-electric range.
What are some of the Wrangler’s features?
Four main trim levels are available for the Wrangler, and each trim is packed to the brim with features. The base trim is the Sport, which comes with 17-inch wheels, skid plates, tow hooks, fog lights, and a 5-inch touchscreen. There is a special Willy’s version of the Sport, which adds to this with a limited-slip rear differential, four-wheel disk breaks, and all-weather floor mats. Moving up to the Sport S adds more amazing features such as alloy wheels, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and tinted windows. The Sport S has an Altitude version with black 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and an upgraded off-road suspension. At the midway point is the Sahara, which adds to the fun with full-time four-wheel-drive, a body-colored grille with chrome inserts, body-colored fender flairs, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is an Altitude and High Altitude version of the Sahara that adds a body-colored three-piece hardtop with headliner, leather seats, and a sport-tuned suspension. If you’re into off-roading, go with the Rubicon trim, which comes with 17-inch wheels with 33-inch off-road tires, 4:1 low-range gearing, electronic locking front and rear differentials, rock rails, and an electronic disconnecting front stabilizer bar.
What can you tell me about the safety features?
While the Wrangler comes with a ton of power and tech, there are also a ton of wonderful safety systems available as well. Available is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System that will help keep an eye on the other lane to help you make safer lane changes. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System, enabling you to maintain a pre-set distance between the Wrangler and traffic ahead of you. One of the best safety features the Wrangler has is the Rear Parking Assist System with sensors to alert you when you are too close to an object while backing up.
